Over the last 10 years Malcolm and I worked with Gordon and RSPB staff on many different projects at North Kent Marshes, the first being when the RSPB purchased Shorne Marshes and we helped cut out the invading scrub. Gordon clearly enjoyed the outdoors and seemed particularly at home on the marshes of North Kent. He cared about the natural world which for him came first, second and third. Malcolm and I feel very sad that Gordon will no longer be watching the marshes, this is a tragic loss and our condolences go to his family and close friends. Sally

We were so shocked and sorry to hear the sad news about Gordon. We will miss seeing him when we go to Elmley, and bumping into and chatting to him when we are out and about, as we often used to. Such a sad loss. Our condolences to his family.
