Apple day

Apple day

On Saturday 12th October members of the Gravesend RSPB Group attended Northfleet School for Girls for their  ‘Apple Day’ event. This event was intended to celebrate the Autumn harvest and the natural world generally. We had hoped to be outside in the wildlife area but with unpredictable weather our tables were inside in the dry. However, there were outdoor activities for children such as insect observation and searching for soil invertebrates (!)

Irene, Sue, Cliff & Sally spoke to many visitors about the Group’s activities and about the RSPB’s work generally. Josie provided us with RSPB Sales goods which sold well with takings of £86. Pin badges went well too. We made a good job of advertising our Group to local people & were able to pass on the good news that our evening meetings would be held at the school on Thursdays from January 2014.

  1. It looks like you had a great time. It is great to see us getting out and about in the community, well done one and all for spending the time. Just sorry I couldn’t be there!
