Dear Gravesend RSPB Supporter
North West Kent Local Group of Kent Wildlife Trust – Tuesday 5 April
We would like to welcome you to our last indoor meeting of the season, on Tuesday 5 April at 7.30pm.
Our very own orchid expert, David Johnson (also of RSPB Gravesend), will be talking about Robert Pocock’s Orchids.
As you know from Malcolm Jennings’ recent work, Pocock was a local 19th-century naturalist who kept a herbarium and wrote about plants, including orchids, of which Kent has many glorious species.
David will show us the important links from Pocock’s information to the lovely orchids we still have in the area today.
David’s digital presentation will be followed by refreshments, and then our Group’s short Annual General Meeting.
We meet at the Mick Jagger Centre, Dartford Grammar School for Boys, Shepherds Lane, Dartford DA1 2JZ. Entrance donations appreciated. Our room is upstairs by the lift – look out for our signs or ask at Reception who will be happy to direct you to us.
The meeting starts at 730pm and ends by 10pm.
There is plenty of room to park in the school grounds.
We look forward to welcoming you and your friends.
Best wishes
Jenny Gibb
Chairman, North West Kent Local Group, Kent Wildlife Trust
