On Thursday evening we welcomed Rick and Elis Simpson to speak to us about their love of waders and the charity they set up to support them around the world, called Wader Quest.
We learnt a lot about the wide variety of waders that occur around the world and how they are being threatened by human actions, whether it is from tidal barriages, marinas, beach developments, etc etc. And yet despite the gloom and doom they set out to make a difference by targeting specific species and local community projects as well as ‘spreading the love’ for all things waders.
If you missed the talk, want to learn more or if you would like to join Wader Quest and support them with a small annual fee, pop along to their website at www.waderquest.org.

Excellent evening with two very knowledgeable, compassionate presenters. Rick delivered his presentation with gusto and was ably assisted by Elis. The photographs that accompanied the presentation were fantastic from Elis. All in all, a very enjoyable evening.
Delighted you enjoyed it, and sorry I missed it!
Hi and thank you to Steve and Hazel and everyone at the RSPB Gravesend group. We really enjoyed the evening very much and were made to feel most welcome. Thank you for the opportunity to come and talk to you about our passion and work.
