This weekend the Group were at the 2016 Gravesend Regatta. No, we weren’t rowing on the Thames against the Three Daws, instead, like last year, we ran a stall on the Promenade Green offering free wildlife masks for children to colour in and wear. During the course of the day we shared our masks with many children and chatted to their parents and carers. We also sold plants, gave out many information leaflets and booklets themed around Giving Nature a Home and tested adults and children a-like on ‘Name that bird’.
At 2:30pm a spitfire treated the crowd to several fly pasts over the Thames, but I think the creations we saw made were the stars of the day!
Many thanks go to Irene and Terry Robson, Sue and Cliff Provins and Sally Jennings for making the day successful and enjoyable and for supplying teas, cakes and ice-creams!
Until next year…
Paul
