Norman and Sandra have been part of the RSPB team on the “Black-winged Stilt watch” at Cliffe Pools since the end of May. Two pairs of black-winged stilts laid eggs and volunteers have been assisting RSPB staff to ensure that the birds were not disturbed (or worse). Each pair had 4 young and and seven have survived. So well done to the black-winged stilts and the volunteer team!
Black-winged stilts, little egrets, mediterranean gulls and cettis warblers at a brackish lagoon – no, not somewhere in the south of France but Cliffe Pools RSPB reserve! Join us on Tuesday 25th July at 10.00. See our programme for details. [Please note that the leaders of the trip do not guarantee sightings of all or any of these species!]
Thanks to Norman and Sandra for the information and the wonderful photograph.
