Some of you (who get the South East BBC News rather than London) may already be aware that Dave Saunders, Simon Ginnaw and several others are setting up a beach clean along the River Thames at Cliffe Pools. Full details are on the links highlighted below, however, the aim is to clear the accumulation of plastic and other rubbish along the river.
If left this will undoubtedly end up choking the river and creeks with some blowing around the marshes and the reserve, in all cases causing major problems for our wildlife and ourselves.
The provisional date is Saturday 24th February, which does not clash with any of the Gravesend Group activities, so no excuses there!
It is envisaged that there will need to be around 100 people to clear the current rubbish. If you would like to help, please register your interest as soon as possible by contacting Katie Thatcher at Bromhey Farm, by emailing her at the North Kent Marshes office: firstname.lastname@example.org
Please feel free to pass this on to anyone who you think might be interested.
