The BTO want our help to learn about Tawny Owl population change and understand more about their calling behaviour and distribution.
It’s easy to take part. All you need to do is listen for Tawny Owls for 20 minutes each week, from 30 September to 31 March, from your garden, local park or woodland. You can even listen whilst lying in bed with the window open. The more weeks that you can listen the better – but you can do as many or as few weeks as you are able.
Full details about how you can take part can be found here.
You will also find links to their “learn about owls” pages with audio tracks and information about owl ecology and behaviour.
