Our first outdoor meeting of 2019 takes place this Saturday, 5th January at Shellness and Capel Fleet.
Meet at the sea wall at Leysdown to walk to Shellness to see the wader roost ME12 4RJ(TR042699).
Afterwards we will go to the Capel Fleet raptor watchpoint ME12 4BA(TR013689) for marsh harriers & short-eared owls.
The meeting starts at 10am and will finish around 4pm.
Our meetings are open to all. If you have not been before, please come along and introduce yourself – you will be made very welcome!
Remember to bring a packed lunch with you and wear appropriate clothing and footwear. Please be aware of your own capabilities. Our leaders are familiar with the locations but if you are uncertain about whether you should come along, or would like further information about a location or in the case of inclement weather please see our website or contact Paul Yetman. When visiting RSPB reserves remember to bring your RSPB membership card.
Useful info: For those who haven’t been to Shellness before, there are public toilets located opposite the Rose & Crown pub in Leysdown. They’re on the main road on left as you drive out of Leysdown towards our first meeting point.
