You may recall Irene’s excellent post last year “the 200 bird challenge” when she described her path to membership of the exclusive “200 club”.
I commented at the time that it would be interesting to compile a list of British bird species seen on TV in one year. The idea was mainly for a bit of fun, but also because I know that not all our members are able to join the group on our field trips.
So after a year of dedicated TV watching from the comfort of my armchair, and armed only with mugs of tea and a packet (or two) of biscuits, I am pleased to reveal the results.
My total for 2013 was 158 – not quite the dizzy heights of the “200 club” but a worthy effort nonetheless.
For those of you interested to see the list you will find the details here.
I won’t be repeating the exercise this year, but feel free to take up the challenge and try to beat my 158!

Excellent Alan, given my current experience this year I might give it a go!
